I’m not sure you can delete the ‘highlight’ that Instagram puts up when you like a snap.

Yes you can, but only after the original post has been approved by Instagram. To do this, click on your post and then click the little red x. It’s there for a second, and then disappears before the post can be deleted.

I don’t want to sound like a broken record here, but there is also a way to get rid of the instagram highlight. It is available for purchase on the website, but it does cost $10.

The Insta-hider works like this: The first time you like a snap, Instagram gives you a quick pop-up with a brief description of the activity, and you can then click “delete” to remove the snap from your profile. One feature of the Snap-Hider that I think was especially interesting is the ability to delete your highlighted Instagram images. I have a few issues with the Snap Hider. First, I don’t like how people are able to use it as a way to take over my Instagram account. I don’t like the idea of letting people use my Instagram with the ability to use it as a way to make money. Second, Instagram has a whole series of tutorials for Hiders, and I’ve never seen one that has a step-by-step guide on how to remove your Instagram highlight.
