We are all, at one point or another, bombarded with marketing messages, sometimes even in the same day. For example, you may hear the story about how this firm is the best place to work in the city. Or the story that this firm is the most qualified to provide the best legal services. Or that this firm is the best firm in the city. We get so busy that we have to re-evaluate.
Marketing firms are one of those things that many people have the same idea of a marketing firm. They are the ones that take a group of people and put them out there as though they’re a business. They take their best ideas and shove them down their throats. The idea that this firm is the best firm in the city is just a marketing ploy. The idea that this firm is the best law firm is just a marketing ploy.
The reality is that marketing firms are often just as successful as law firms. Both are about selling goods and services, and both are about marketing. But what makes a marketing firm better than a law firm is that it is more creative. It takes a group of employees and puts them out there as though theyre a business. They take their best ideas and shove them down their throats. The idea that this firm is the best firm in the city is just a marketing ploy.
In a marketing firm, employees do everything. They create the vision, they manage the day-to-day operations, and they strategize on how to make the firm a success. In a law firm, employees do all the grunt work. They write briefs, they write strategy memos, and they do the research. They do all the grunt work.
I once wrote a letter to a marketing firm for a project I was working on. The firm promised me they would come up with the most creative marketing plan possible. I was shocked because it was basically the same plan the marketing firm had proposed when I was working there. So I emailed the marketing firm asking for the plans that had never been released. The marketing firm made one change after another and then sent me a few more changes to the plan I was proposing.
The marketing firm has changed, but the plan never changed. We’ve all heard of the “New Coke” that is a marketing ploy. They’ve just changed the name to “New Coke.” The plan never changed, and the marketing firm got paid a lot of money for their work.
What about the marketing firm? When I asked the marketing firm about their experience with this, I got the usual canned response. What did they do? I asked the marketing firm if they’d ever worked with a lawyer or if they’d ever worked with someone like me. I asked them if they’d worked with anyone who had an interest in marketing and if they’d ever worked with a lawyer.
This trailer was just a way to demonstrate the fact that the company doesn’t like to be seen as being in a position of power or interest in a business. They did all this out of laziness by making the company look like it was the company they were working for.
Theyre a couple of reasons why this trailer is so poorly written. First, it’s a trailer that makes you think, “I’ve got my own name.” The company has no idea what your name is, but they know exactly what you’re looking for. Second, they did this because they wanted to make sure that the trailer does not end with “I’m a doctor”. The company is not a doctor, it’s a business that does this.
